“It’s easier for a small person to compete now than it was ten years ago.”
When customers are shopping online, customer expectations are very high. Last 14 years many changes have taken place. Customers are starting to expect better service or product. Fast delivery, real-time feed back or service and in-stock product. Those elements are what customers want from a merchant. These are a lot of pressure, from a merchant perspective. As time goes by, customers gain more experience toward shopping. The experience customers are using rich media like audio, video or multiple views to test or observe their product. They also use tools like customer reviews to get detail information. These kind things make more confidence toward buying product. And merchants should consider these kind systems. Because of customer expectation, better techniques of marketing are required.

I definitly agree that internet business have evolved, and that customers expect allot more now than in the beginning. In the early days it was enough to have a competative price. Now days you need allot more.
People are allways talking about how easy it is to start up a busines online, but perhaps it isnät as easy as people think any more, due to all the complementary assets needed to make the customers satisfied.
As a one man company owner for now, I completely agree on that. Without internet, I would not be able to run the business, and it really gives individual a power, and that's why there's a term "MEconomy."
The Internet business has definitely evolved a lot and is still constantly growing. Although Internet makes it a lot easier for businesses to start up, I'm still pretty convinced that it's a whole lot more difficult to keep it up and running in the long run, due to the highly competitive environment that exists on the Internet.
